NetOptics 4xN 10/100/1000 Span Port iMatrix Switch

By: NetOptics 4xN 10/100/1000 Span Port iMatrix Switch

Net Optics 4xN 10/100/1000 Span Port iMatrix Switches enhance LAN visibility by providing access across multiple 10/100/1000 Span ports for up to four analyzers or security devices. The iMatrix Switch features remote interfaces that provide control and status information from anywhere in the network.

The software-controlled physical layer connections through the iMatrix Switch eliminate the need to reconnect and reconfigure analyzers for each new monitoring task. This flexibility instantly improves ease of use and return on investment.

Remote Control

The iMatrix Switch Web Manager and System Manager allow you to remotely set configuration parameters and change which Span ports are monitored with a click of your mouse. The Web Manager is browser-based interface accessible from any PC with a browser and access to the iMatrix Switch’s IP address. System Manager is an SNMP-based management interface. Once you have configured the iMatrix Switch and set the desired connections, you can disable the remote interfaces from the RS232 command line interface (CLI).

Web Manager

Net Optics Web Manager allows you to change settings, view status, and change port connections with simple-to-use controls. When you access an iMatrix Switch with Web Manager, all configuration, status, and port connection information is displayed on a single page. Changes to the configuration can be made with a few clicks of the mouse.

System Manager

Net Optics System Manager is an SNMP management tool that offers central management of all Net Optics iMatrix Switches in the network. You can organize iMatrix Switches into groups according to workgroup, location, or any other criteria. As with Web Manager, you can view status information and change configuration options. Change port connections quickly on any iMatrix Switch in the system with a few mouse clicks in a single interface.

iMatrix Switch’s System Manager gives network managers a place to update other users sharing monitoring resources connected to iMatrix Switches. With System Manager you can name the Span port connections and enter relevant notes about the Span port. Each iMatrix Switch also has a Message Board where users can enter any other important information about the iMatrix Switch for other users to view.

iMatrix Switches can be fully accessed with third-party SNMP management tools after loading Net Optics Management Information Base (MIB) file.

Scalable Deployment

Double or triple Span port coverage by daisy chaining iMatrix Switches. The Daisy Chain option allows a single monitoring device or host PC to manage up to three iMatrix Switches and up to 98 Span ports. All Daisy-chained ports are controllable from the remote interfaces.

Reliability

For extra uptime protection, Net Optics iMatrix Switches offer redundant power connections. Should the primary power source fail, the iMatrix Switch automatically switches to the backup power source. Power LEDs on the front of the iMatrix Switch indicate the current power source.
