By: Datacom Systems Inc. 4X16SY-SX

The 4X16SY-SX is a 16 port In-Line Fiber Gigabit Physical Layer Switch for use in Enterprise level fiber gigabit networks. The 4X16SY-SX Matrix Switch will give you visibility into 16 fiber gigabit links utilizing the same technology that is found in our completely passive conventional fiber gigabit taps. This means you never have to worry about losing any packets on your link if your physical layer switch, analyzer, firewall, or IDS fails or loses power.

The Datacom Systems 4X16 Fiber Gigabit In-Line Physical Layer Switch, 4X16SY-SX, greatly increases network visibility into enterprise level fiber gigabit networks. Greater visibility accelerates problem resolution, reduces downtime, increases enterprise productivity, and improves ROI.

The Datacom Systems 4X16SY-SX Physical Layer Switch also allows a company to leverage its existing and legacy network analyzers, network probes, and network security equipment by providing a modular monitoring interface which allows the use of SX, LX, and 1000 Mb Copper Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) to connected to a large variety of devices. The Datacom Systems 4X16SY-SX Matrix Switch will also allow you to daisy chain up to four switches providing you the ability to provide coverage for sixty-four Gigabit fiber links.

Like all Datacom Systems physical layer switches, the 4X16SY-SX is compatible with all vendor hardware and can be controlled by MANAgents™ management software, which will allow you to control all of your physical layer switches through a single interface regardless of what network appliances you choose to deploy.

  • Leverage 4 network appliances across 16 in-line segments
  • Daisy-chain 4 units to access up to 64 links
  • High port density per 1U space with 16 built-in fiber passive TAPs
  • Passive TAPs won’t break the link if power is lost - never lose packets
  • SFP (small form pluggable) monitor ports can be SX, LX or 1000MB Copper
  • Internal dual power supplies
  • Non-intrusive and invisible to the network - ideal for security and monitoring appliances
  • Central management eliminates need to travel with portable equipment
  • Configure and manage the switch through MANAgents™ switch control software or directly through the API of most network analyzers
  • Conveniently rack-mountable in only 1U (1.72”)
